Dipolma Options

Florida Law gives all high school students the right to choose one of the three diploma options:

• 4-year (24 credit) standard high school diploma

• 3-year (18 credit) career preparatory diploma

• 3-year (18 credit) college preparatory diploma

• Special Diploma, Option 1

• Special Diploma, Option 2

If a student does not make a choice, the 4-year option will be selected for that student. Students may change their diploma option each Spring during the registration process. Doing so may mean that the student would be obligated to meet all additional requirements for the new diploma option selected. The 18-credit option must be completed in three years. Prior to selecting the 18-credit option, students must achieve a Level 3 or above on the most recent FCAT. If not completed within the 3-year time period, the student would be obligated to meet all additional requirements for the 4-year (24-credit) diploma.
